At New Campus Business School, we are committed to making high-quality European education accessible to international students. If you’re planning to study in Malta and are not a citizen of the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you will need to obtain a Student Visa to legally reside and study in the country. On the other hand, students from EU, EEA, and Swiss countries do not require a visa. Instead, they are simply required to register their residence with Malta’s Office of Migration and Foreign Affairs. This simplified process offers added convenience and flexibility for students from these regions. For those who do need a visa, there’s no need to worry – New Campus Business School offers full guidance and support throughout your application and academic journey in Malta.

Required Documents

To apply for a Maltese Student Visa, you will need to prepare the following documents:

  • a completed Malta Student Visa Application Form;
  • two recent passport-size photos;
  • a valid international passport;
  • travel health insurance that covers the entire duration of your stay;
  • proof of accommodation in Malta (an official confirmation from the university of housing arrangements for your study period);
  • documentation showing you have sufficient financial resources to support yourself throughout your stay and to fund your return travel;
  • confirmation of full tuition payment for the first year of study;
  • an official invitation letter issued by New Campus Business School;
  • proof of payment for the visa application fee.

How to Apply

  1. Collect all required documents. Prepare all documents needed for the Maltese Visa.
  2. Book a Visa Appointment at the VFS center
  3. Submit Your Application. On your appointment day, provide the signed application form, visa fee receipt, and all required documents. Make sure everything is complete and accurate.

The New Campus Business School will support you every step of the way, providing guidance and support!

Processing Time

The typical processing period for a Maltese student visa is approximately four weeks. However, depending on your personal circumstances and the time of year, this timeframe may extend to 8–9 weeks. The official processing time begins once you have submitted your completed application form to the appropriate Maltese embassy or consulate. After reviewing your application, the embassy will inform you of the outcome regarding your visa approval. To avoid delays or complications, it is highly recommended to begin your application well in advance.

After your arrival in Malta, you will need to apply for a residence permit. This permit is mandatory for staying in the country legally beyond the validity of the initial student visa. The residence permit must be renewed annually for the full duration of your studies, ensuring that you remain compliant with all Maltese immigration regulations.
